  1. Drew’s Private Airbrush Club has a 1966 Mustang with a VIN of 6R07C129054. VIN decoding sites have shown this to be a hardtop, 2-door coupe with a 289 and a 2-bbl carburetor. This vehicle now has a 289 with a 4-bbl carburetor and it also has a full-length console, dual exhaust and fog lamps. I checked the diameter of the front anti-sway bar on a micrometer and it reads .701 inches. I know the VIN indicates it was manufactured in San Jose CA and that it likely came off the assembly line as a standard coupe with a 289/2-bbl and single exhaust. I’m wondering, however, if this particular vehicle could have been special ordered, sometime in 1965/66, to be produced as a GT or is it more likely the original 2-door hardtop has been converted to a GT-look in some “backyard garage”? Thanks for whatever you can offer.

  2. I have a 66 coupe that has a 289 2 barrel 3spd manuel it there some way tell if it had a vinyl top originally it has very little rust except for the top of the car. Didn’t know if the id code should indicate it or not. I want it to be put back orignail. I’m not fond of vinyl tops but if that’s the way it come that’s what I want back on it. I have been told that it was kinda rare to be silver frost and not be a gt. Just wanted to ask to get a little more info.

  3. I have a mustang trying to figure out what I got. Vin.# 6t071260912 . Other # are D36 7E9 65ax 26 can some one please let me know what the numbers are.thank you Dudley.
