AverageJoeRestoration.com is an Entertaining and Informative, Step-By-Step Restoration of a true American icon, the “Classic Mustang”.
The first in (what is planned to be) a series, will feature “Project Playboy”, a 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe; a special order vehicle delivered to a Los Angeles California Ford Dealer with an the unusual exterior paint color designated Playboy Pink.
Project Playboy begins with Average Joe going head first into the realm of restoration. Average Joe shares with you his experience of why he decided to restore a classic Mustang, and what he did to convince his wife that he was setting up shop in the garage and was about to purchase and restore a classic, how he located and purchased the mustang, prepared the work environment and planned his venture into classic car restoration.
Project Playboy will be published in chapters, each chalk full of easy to understand articles with full color photos and video demonstrating the restoration process step-by-step so any restorer or even the Average Joe can understand apply and adapt many of the procedures and techniques on restoration projects of their own.
The chapters of Project Playboy will cover everything from inspecting and purchasing a Mustang for sale (unless you’re fortunate enough to already have one in the garage), to setting up your work area, doing a full vehicle inspection, evaluating your tool needs, tearing down, deciding which parts to restore or replace with new Classic Mustang Parts, dealing with body, paint, mechanical needs and finally reassembly.
Average Joe will also feature “How to” articles along his path to full restoration. These articles will be task specific to doing repairs or small restoration projects, so that any Classic Mustang Owner can get into the fun for just a few days at a time. Perhaps even getting their kids involved and turning them into classic car enthusiasts too?
