When it comes to a good Mustang restoration there are some equipment needs that most enthusiast doing their own work never really consider. Aside from the basic tools including screw drivers, wrenches, sockets and pliers there are three pieces of equipment that will yield much higher quality than a scrub brush and soapy water.

More Tools for the Restoration Project
If you read one of my earlier posts then you know that I didn’t have much in the way of tools to do a restoration project; well that has changed. I started searching for tools last week to begin expanding my collection, the first thing on my list was a tool box. I found a nice tool box on closeout at Sears and it should hold most of the tools that I will need to do the job.
Converting from Garage to Mustang Stable
I sketched out a layout for the garage on a piece of paper to figure out where I would put benches, shelves, tools and equipment and of course what part of the floor the Mustang would occupy for the duration.
Getting the Mustang Running
The first thing I wanted to do with Project Playboy was try to get the engine running; the previous owner could not get it running prior to selling it to me. I looked like the spark plug wires were new, including the distributor cap, rotor, points and maybe the spark plugs too. There was also a new inline fuel filter installed that would later reveal a lot of debris coming from the fuel tank.
