how do I tell if it’s the original engine? the number on the engine is d2ae6015-ba-13. The engine in the car is a 351 Windsor 2v
D2 means 1972, so that DEFINITELY is NOT the orig engine to the 1969 Mustang.
The best you can do to determine if it is the original engine is to get the production date information and part number to get as close to the production date as your car, but not after. this information may help

there is no 05 body style code for 1969 the 05 did not start till 1970

My dads 69 6 cyl came with 5 lug not 4 it has drum in the front 8inch in rear but 5 lugs.
